Action Junkie?
"Success is about action. Action beats worry. Action beats fear. Action always wins."
Hey Peeps, I hope everybody’s having a great start to 2025! I know the title of this post might seem a little misleading, but I promise it’s relevant to today’s topic.
So far, my first week of the year has been going pretty well. However, I’ve realized that, despite all the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual preparation I did for 2025, I’ve let a few doubts from 2024 creep in. I mean, 2024 was literally last week, and there isn’t some magic pill that transforms me into a completely new person overnight just because it’s a new year. I’ve had to remind myself that becoming who I am meant to be is a marathon, not a sprint.
One gentle reminder of this is the vision boards I created for this year. The one I find myself staring at the most is my career vision board.
Pursuing a creative career can be scary—unlike other industries, we don’t always know what’s waiting for us on the other side of our efforts. But as I mentioned in my December post, I don’t care anymore. On the other side of this pursuit, I believe there’s happiness.
I say all this because I recently dissected the lingering doubt in my spirit and came to a realization: for me, doubt comes from inaction. And one of my biggest goals this year is to master the art of taking action.
I have a tendency to overthink and get stuck in the research phase of things, which means a lot of my ideas never come to fruition. And I’m tired of it. I’m tired of doubting myself. I’m tired of sitting around wondering if I’m doing things “correctly.” I think the only way to overcome doubt and overthinking is to just do.
Today, I’ve been putting that mindset into practice. I filmed two YouTube videos, I’m writing this publication, and I’m about to edit my latest film project, which I plan to release in the next few days.
This year, I want to be completely consumed with taking action toward my goals. Ultimately, I just want to create—in every way, shape, and form. I hope you’ll stick around for the ride.
If you enjoyed this post, let me know what actions you’re taking this year to improve your life and circumstances. I’d love to hear from you because we’re all in this together. I have a good feeling about 2025—it’s going to be an amazing year.
Until next time, peeps. Peace.
